Traditional Latin Mass in Puerto Rico: Update

Dear brothers and sisters:
I am extremely glad and delighted to inform you that God's grace has granted us another venue for the Traditional Latin Mass in Puerto Rico.
This time it is St. Joseph's, another parish belonging to the Archdiocese of San Juan and located in the city of Guaynabo, about ten minutes from my home city of Bayamon.

I met the pastor Fr. Ricardo Hernandez  this afternoon and after a cordial and fruitful conversation, we agreed that starting in January I will coordinate the TLM, which would be offered the fourth and fifth Sunday on a monthly basis. Fr. Hernandez is such a wonderful and understanding priest. Himself being a conservative, he said he is very aware of the type of hardships I must confront while working in this apostolate, and that he wanted to help as it would "bring many blessings upon his parish". Due to multiple pastoral commitments, includind being an exorcist, he would not be able to immediately join our cadre of chaplains, but was more than happy to pave the way for us into his community; stating that he would join as an active chaplain as soon as he gets some more "hands-on" liturgical training and once he settled down a little with his hectic schedule. He will inform his flock of this new developments and we will prepare a joint workshop for those members of his community who will attend the TLM.

In addition, we agreed that I will coordinate a Missa Cantata for the Feast of the Nativity of Our Lord, thus the upcoming Gregorian chant workshops offered by Fr. Antonio Ofray will now be focused on that particular feast. Starting in January, workshops will focus on the prayers/chants of each succeding Mass.

Also, I've been told by the pastor at St.George's that we can start having our second monthly Mass starting in January also. Thus, starting in January the apostolate's TLM schedule looks as follow:

St. George's - First and third Sundays, 3:00PM

St. Joseph's - Fourth and fifth Sundays, 3:00PM

A third venue remains to be identified for the Mass on the second Sunday. The pastor at St. Joseph's informed that he would be more than willing to have it there, if it wasn't because there are regularly scheduled Baptisms those Sundays. I do, however, have some other parishes / chapels in sight, so God willing I'll find the place to have Mass on that Sunday and finally have a Gregorian Mass every single Sunday of the year. Please keep praying for our apostolate here. God bless,

dom. Edgardo
